Terry Delaney is our Senior Therapist/Counsellor with over 50 years of education, training and experience in the field of Human Behavior. He has been registered with the Council for Professions Allied with Medicine (CPAM) since 2006. He is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), an Internationally Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor – an Internationally Licensed Clinical Supervisor (LICDC-S) and a Registered Gestalt Therapist. Terry holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Psychology, a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Criminal Justice and he has completed 2 years toward a PhD in Psychology. He has been invited to teach as an adjunct instructor and has successfully taught at 8 Universities in 6 countries.
In 2015, on National Heroes Day, Terry was honored with the designation of “Emerging Pioneer in Healthcare” during the national celebration.
Terry has over 35 years of experiences working with substance abuse/misuse and addiction, he understands the association of trauma and addiction, and the related mental health disorders associated with trauma. His experience working with grief, veterans, and those who were impacted by adverse life events have enhanced his practice in the trauma-informed therapy and the emphasis of community and systemic practice.

Terry is a lifetime devoted Therapist/Counsellor with a primary focus of being an “Agent of Change”. He believes that change generates joy, happiness, growth and development in people and that those positive emotional states provide a fulfilling life. Knowing that each client is a unique individual with their own personal “story”, Terry is eclectic in his approach to facilitate change in each case. Terry has been active in assisting the people of the Cayman Islands increase their knowledge of mental health by means of years of TV and Radio appearances along with workshops through numerous service groups and other providers throughout his 24 years living in Grand Cayman.
