Ms Deshane is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and a CPAM-registered Clinical Psychologist with advanced training in trauma, neurodiversity, and psychological assessment. She is currently completing her doctoral degree in psychology and brings over eight years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across diverse settings.
Deshane specialises in trauma-informed therapy and psychological assessment and enjoys working with individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to make sense of what they are experiencing. She integrates evidence-based approaches including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), cognitive-behavioural therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Play Family Therapy, adapting her work thoughtfully to meet each client’s unique needs.
She has a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a Certified Autism Specialist (IBCCES) with a strong background in psycho-educational and developmental assessment, Deshane brings a deep understanding of both the challenges and strengths of neurodiversity. She works collaboratively with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure assessment and therapy become tools for understanding, empowerment, and meaningful change.
At the heart of Deshane’s practice is a strong belief that each person is the expert in their own life. Her role is not to judge or “fix,” but to listen deeply, support gently, and walk alongside clients as they explore emotions, understand their responses to stress and trauma, and develop skills for emotional regulation and self-compassion. She strives to create a safe, warm, and non-judgmental therapeutic space where clients feel seen, respected, and supported.
Having practiced and trained across the Caribbean, Deshane brings a culturally responsive and socially attuned lens to her work and believes that effective therapy must honour each person’s background, identity, and lived experience. She is passionate about learning, teaching, and ongoing professional development and enjoys contributing to consultation, training, and collaborative clinical work.
