Ms Carrie Morgan

Counselling Psychotherapist

Carrie Morgan MA MFT, LADC, CCTP is a licensed counselor in the Cayman Islands. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with extensive experience working across the lifespan with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her therapeutic approach is warm, strengths-based, and deeply informed by evidence-based practices. She holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and an additional postgraduate certificate in Addiction and Co-Occurring Disorders from Adler Graduate School in Minnesota, as well as a Post Master’s Certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Carrie specializes in helping clients untangle complex emotions, build healthier relationships, and develop practical tools to manage life’s uncertainties.

With a strong clinical background supporting children and youth who have experienced childhood trauma—especially those in residential care, foster placements, or under child protection—Carrie is skilled at working with complex emotional and behavioural presentations. Her years at Children and Youth Services in the Cayman Islands have shaped her ability to provide structured, compassionate and trauma-informed care in residential and multidisciplinary settings. She has a natural talent for building therapeutic rapport with adolescents and teenagers, using attachment-based approaches such as Theraplay® to foster emotional regulation, connection, and safety.

She also brings specialized experience working with adults facing co-occurring mental health challenges and substance use disorders. Along with her extensive training in management of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). As a clinician at the Caribbean Haven Residential Centre, she offers individual and group therapy using integrative methods grounded in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and expressive arts therapy.

In her work with couples and families, Carrie incorporates principles from the Gottman Method to help partners navigate conflict, improve communication, and rebuild trust. Her commitment to relational healing extends to systemic family work, where she addresses attachment, intergenerational trauma, and family resilience.

Carrie has undertaken substantial advanced training in Cognitive-Behavioural therapies, Family Systems Therapies, and Theraplay®, as well as Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). She integrates these modalities with an understanding of polyvagal theory, trauma disorder, dissociative disorders, and personality pathology, allowing her to adapt to a wide range of client needs.

Carrie is passionate about creating emotionally safe spaces for healing, self-expression, and healing. Helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges with clarity, self-compassion, and growth. She believes therapy should be a space where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
